Photograph of CLIFF CREGO, Before setting up new basecamp, evening tea (I.26.2009)

Before setting up new basecamp, evening tea (I.26.2009) . . .
Stable high-pressure weather and good, safe snow. What more can one ask!
The caldera-like, large semicircular ridge of what I call the Cornucopia Group
which leads to Copncopia Peak (not visible in photo) is in the background.
On the road in the American Northwest. [ click photo for next . . . ]

DISTANCE

A view with

80 kilometers to the South,

50 to the West,

more than enough space methinks

to untie the mess of knots

I've made of myself again.

Back at the 'Office,' I tend to forget:—

eyes sore, pinching every penny,

fretting myself into a churning

chaos of tense twists and turns.

You there, friend:—be the one

who runs me out of town,

and locks the door.
