WINTER IS . . .

Winter is . . . when the mountain landscape
paints with its healing brush of simplicity, when
the old, broken and half forgotten disappear in
a miraculous abundance of snow, an abundance
which renews itself over and over again,
each day.

Winter is . . . when the mountain landscape teaches
us about this need to let go, of dying to the past, of
the need to begin afresh, to make our paths, anew,
each day.

Winter is . . . when the mountain landscape reveals
to us that it is only in the darkest silence of cold,
star-filled nights that we sense the musics that have
not yet been brought down to Earth, a depth of sound
eclipsed too soon by the returning of the light,
each day.
