Silent Protest

(Photo:
Neon Fallacy;  A surreal confusion of images, like
one might remember in a dream after having successfully traversed in a
speedy car a typical North American cityscape, en route to the high
country. The man in the background is showing me where cleanup
operations took place—nearly 50 years after the contaminants were
released into the environment—at a facility used to produce uranium
fuel rods for the Manhattan Project during World War II. The residents
of the surrounding urban area know nothing of the site's
unique history.)
