Asian Bittersweet . . . (Celastrus
orbiculatus) A highly invasive weed
of
North American forests. Upon ripening, the fruits split open, revealing
three
red-orange arils that contain the seeds. Very similar to the native
American
Bittersweet (flowers at tips), with which it can form hybrids.
