whiteman's foot

Whiteman's Foot: Common Plantain. . . (Plantago major)  Introduced from Europe.
First recorded observation in North America in 1748. Native Americans thought that
the plant followed the movements of the newly arrived Europeans. Common along
roadsides, where compacted soil meets asphalt, and in unfertilized lawns.
