"POSTER
CAKE" . . . Winter
Solstice Concert in North American.
Making a cake out of the posters we design for each
of the four or five concerts we give with our Cheltenham
Performance Circle has become something of a tradition.
Wonders of the new technology, I tell myself. In any event,
I do love making the posters. I like to use a photo made
the very week we put them up, about 10 days before the
actual performances, so the images normally reflect the same
rhythms of the natural year found here in the PhotoWeek
pages. It's one of the more fun aspects of rethinking from
the ground up and from a to z the whole nature of New Music
performance practice.
